Club runs - 4th September

by WorcsPhil
Another week with just over 30 riders out on club runs. A look at the names shows that it is largely a different set of 30 riders most weeks, so presumably one week will have everybody turning up and we'll get over 60 people or so...our record this year is 46, ironically on a nice day in January.

That's enough stats for a Tuesday morning....

This weeks rides are below, and we need an intro run leader and support for the September Intro ride is desperately needed...go on, have a go.

A: Wyre Forest Cafe. Philip Whiteman
B: Chipping Campden - Paul Johnson
C: Akambas (Solihull) - Carolyn Clegg

September Intro ride: Cutnall Green, led by Bob Green

Particular thanks to Carolyn for her first 'leading role in a musical' this week.

This is the route we will be doing on Sunday

its a nice route with the opportunity to turn off if you do not want to do the big climb at the end.

we will be going as fast as the slowest person.

Finishing with Spirehouse Lane/Twatling Road up the Lickeys. And Bear Hill out of Alvechurch. And Storrage Lane over the A441. Genius! Sorry to be missing it.

Bit of an oversight not to go through Tanworth to take in Irelands Lane though

I will lead the intro run, a nice gentle ride to Cutnall Green. Approx 32 miles the pace will be that of the slowest rider, and that could well be me.

Bob - you're a star. Hope there is a decent turnout.

A Run

A simple and uncomplex route today. Thanks for the company.

Philip W (L)
Craig Walmsley
Ben Walmsley
Oliver Timms
Chris Ashford
Len Hutton
Matt Regan

The route was fairly short by contemporary standards. Out via Arley and return via Hurtle Hill. Nobody seemed eager to put down the throttle or to ride any extra miles. Perhaps, we were all suffering post-season exhaustion.

Paul, thank for leading the B ride. I enjoyed the ride out, but couldn't hold the pace on the way back. A good ride for me though.

Carolyn,
Really enjoyed today's ride, imaginative route with some previously unchartered lanes for a club run.
Spot on, you've set a good standard and look forward to your next one ....and
How's the trout pout?
