Congratulations to all those who gasped their way up Winwood Heath Road on Sunday...some impressive times to be sure, and it is great to have the National Hill Climb champion, Richard Bussell, competing a week or two before he defends the trophy. Good luck, Rich, from all at the Beacon!

Anyway, where were we after we were so rudely interrupted. The 2015/16 club run season ends this Sunday, then after a 2-day close season starts again the Sunday after. So come and toast this years winner, Paul Johnson, raise his arms aloft and give him a hug...a clear winner. To celebrate, the club run leaders will disperse to the following destinations.

C: Pershore - Colin Groves

Let's make it a high turn out this week.

Pershore I reckon for the C Run this Sunday. Bring a café lock.

50 - 55 miles.

A RUN - 0815 start

Destination: Chipping Campden Coffee Shop, Sheep Street.

Distance: Approx 120km round trip.

Out via: Man in the Moon

Back via: Tardebigge.

Bring a cafe lock.

The cafe have been warned of our impending arrival and will be looking forward to the conclusion of our recent deliberations on our favourite topic of the written word, considering how the invention of writing made the scientific revolution of the Enlightenment possible. We will be examining influential documents, including the student notebooks of Sir Isaac Newton and how they influenced societal discourse during that period.

The B run to Tewkesbury is approximately 75 miles and as flat as flattish can be, cafe is coffee #1 so bring locks if you have them.
I've also made enquiries and Mr Johnson has kindly given permission for anyone to give him a big hug as long as they buy him one of the bostin 'tarte au citron' cakes!!! Risk it if you dare....

I was definitely going to ride the A-ride so I'm happy to lead as Philip's first reserve unless someone pushes me off my bike at 08:14. Rain coming at 2pm so the 08:15 start should see everybody home well before then.

It'll be a sociable pace and we'll all stick together.

Disaster averted in that the usual cafe was heaving with no seating and a passer by happened to mention there was an empty cafe further down the High Street in Bakers Arcade. Plenty of seating, somewhere to put the bikes where you can see them, good service and good food. Coffee & More...be worth adding it to the cafe list.

Thanks to Dave Cox for forming a groupette on the way back. Hope Sergey got back safely. Huan, we lost you right at the end...consensus was that you were riding strongly so had turned off.

blustery conditions but the rain held off apart from a short shower 10 miles from home, coffee #1 had no bacon or sausage baps left much to mr johnsons disgust! james bramwell made it to the café but had to get the train home (hope you got back ok)

Thanks Colin for a great C ride avoiding most of the rain and producing a cafe by magic from an unpromising High St. It's Coffee and More in Bakers Arcade 07521399548. Sergey, Pete and I got back OK at an easy pace. Good to meet you Sergey and we hope you come out again soon.

Great to see James Bramwell's name again - I hope the reason for the train wasn't too serious.

He hasn't ridden much laurence so was struggling before we got to the cafe.

Good find with the cafe who managed to process the orders pretty quickly.

It's known as Lark Stoke hill. I rode with Rich Greer and other BRATs today, also partly following your route. That hill is a real find. 2km average 8%.

Thanks Colin for leading an enjoyable C ride, nice to be back on a club run after an extended absence. Coffee and More did really well given that we descended upon them without advance warning. Good day out all round.
