Club runs - 30th October

Back to normal, well over 30 people out again at the weekend, it must be that we cyclists prefer dry weather. Big thanks to Alan Weaver for stepping in and leading the B-ride after the Pied Piper of Iverley was struck down.

Also, to Si Walker and Mike Balenski for mustering a C-ride at the last minute, and of course, to Matt, where I see he took all the A-riders up Wynniates Way (and that's not a euphemism).

The rides this week are below, and both the A and the B are going to Cobhouse Fisheries via different routes, but enables us to all meet up, hurl abuse, share manly and womanly hugs, and some to switch rides at the café if you like.

A: Cobhouse Fisheries - Phil Richards
B: Cobhouse Fisheries - Paul Johnson
C: Ombersley - Pete Norman

Guess what, we don't have a C-run leader yet - Edit: we now do...thanks, Pete

The clocks go back this Saturday/Sunday, so a lie in should be enjoyed by all, except the two or three people who always turn up an hour early. You have been warned.

The route for the B run will be this https://ridewithgps.com/routes/17217019(Winter rules mean no meandering!!)

...and here's the route for the A-run...pretty much in reverse of Paul's B-ride, except with the addition of a couple of humdinger hills after the café.

I suspect I may be on my own for the return leg, as the easiest route is out with me, back with Paul...will anybody do it the other way?

Weather is set fair again, let's have a good turnout

See y'all on Sunday after the lie in!

On a lovely day to be out, the A-riders making it the café and beyond were:

Phil Richards (Leading)

Steve Philpot
Sachin Tendulkar
Matt Hale
Indy Singh
Martin McGowan

...and at the café were George Barker, Lisa Spurgeon, and the co-leader and Captain on the Road for the day, Thomas Whiteman.

There were no hills.

Excellent smallish cafe in Ombersley, particularly useful as the ride leader had not checked that his intended cafe stop was not closed for refurbishment.
Thanks for your patience people!

Thanks for leading today Phil lovely route, although I'm not totally convinced that all of the hills were directly in our path. Still what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.

Unfortunately Lisa never got her club run point after we made a quick escape following Thomas vomiting in the cafe.

Checketts strangely empty today. Great cafe but best phoned in advance usually, at least that's what they advised me some time back.
