So we enter 2017, a post-Olympic, post-Brexit, post-Trump year...Given these 'wonderful' occasions in 2016, what we need is a healthy start to club runs in 2017. Pedal your inner demons away and volunteer to lead. If you are able to lead a club run or two, please post the date and caf destination on this thread.

This purpose of this topic is compile the schedule of club runs. Discussion about individual rides, including rider lists, will be done in a separate thread - one for each Sunday, which I'll post each Monday preceding the ride.

Using Phil's new bullying tactics whereupon I ran various club members around Alcester in a headlock until they relented (I lied about the violence) we've managed to fill a few gaps and have a couple of new volunteers for C runs - so thank you to both Mikes on Phil's behalf! All destinations TBC.

1st Jan - Andy Wrightson (volunteered by someone else - so it's only a potential)?
8th Jan - Dave Cox
22nd Jan - Colin Groves
12th Mar - Mike Preece
19th Mar - Colin Groves
26th Mar - Mike Balenski

From discussions today it seems confidence in route planning is an issue. My comment is that nobody's going to scorn you for having a go - and generally there will be people on the run who can help you out as happened on my last B run where we stumbled upon a road closure which left me scratching my head.

I haven't done the route before but it looks fairly main roads so should be ok even if a bit cold. However it is p***ing down I won't be there (I don't do getting my hair wet)...

Cheers

I'll take an alternative B/C run to Cannock Chase (off-road) on the 5th March. MTB and CX welcome. No real pace to follow, just fun and mud in the forest, with a quality bacon sarnie for afterwards....

Apologies guys but I'm down to lead a C ride next week (26th March). Should probably call this now and say I'm best rescheduling this. I volunteered back in December but have been finalising my divorce the last couple of months and as such not made any rides close to 50 miles for a while (possibly this year?!!) Think I should at least get a couple of C runs under my belt again before I think about leading. Hope thats okay... I'll look to reschedule once I'm back to being a regular attendee! Will hopefully back 'making up the numbers' in a couple of weeks. Thanks Mike :)

As it's mothers day this Sunday and need to get back I'll lead a beacon burst, probably about 45ish miles returning about 12ish, it'll be A/B run pace. I'll post again tomorrow to see if there's enough interest.
