Good to see 32 riders out on Sunday on a perfect summer's day...thanks to the leaders who stepped up....with Mr Broken ribs himself Andy Wrightson dosing up on Ibroprufen to lead the B-ride. Excellent to see Peter Sagan on the A-run, back in training after his tour shenanigans...hope the A-riders weren't pushed off into the ditches....and that route looked familiar, I have a copyright on that...Chris you me 50p. Thanks also to Pete Norman for stepping up and leading the C-ride at short notice.

Raphael's in Evesham is scheduled to re-open on Friday, and hence this week's rides may all head off down there with a substitute café up sleeves in case of congestion...In addition, there is also a Beacon day out on Wednesday to Hereford and Gospel Pass, organised by Andy Terry...see the facebook page for more details

This week's rides are:

A: Raphaels in Evesham - Paul Johnson
B: Croome Park - Phil Gameson
C: Raphaels in Evesham - Dave Cox

I'll lead the B run to Croome Park. I will post a route in the next couple of days, but I expect it will be around 65 miles and not particularly hilly.
Pace will be determined by the group as a whole.

Here is my route for Sunday - http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Be ... roome-Park
This is 62 miles (100 Km) and according to Ride with GPS has 3,200 feet of climbing. [A relatively flat club run is about 2,400 feet and a hilly one 4,500 feet.]

The B run to Croome Park was pretty uneventful, apart from the vast numbers of other bikes on the road. Apart from joining the route of a sportive once if not twice, we also got passed by the Saracens and a group from Halesowen (the average age of the Saracens was probably three times that of Halesowen). Croome Park was also heaving with cyclists, but we got served promptly.
I think the pace suited everyone - everyone being:
Phi Gameson (Leader)
Si Walker
Simon Woodward
Neil Evanson
Laura Derbyshire
Paul Derbyshire

On today's A ride to Raphael's in Evesham, we answered the question "If one cyclist needs a loo stop mid-bike ride, what percentage of cyclists in the immediate vicinity will also spontaneously decide they also need a loo stop?"...answer - 66.67% :)

It worked well having 2 groups doing different routes but meeting at the same cafe at the same time I thought - nice to meet some new Beacon members from the C ride today - good luck for those doing London to Paris this week!

A riders this week were:

Jess Rhodes-Jones (leading)
Andy Wrightson
Neil Orchard
John Hitchcock
Phil Elwell
Dom Walker
Keith Adcock
Rob Wade
Kevin Young
Vincent Tennant
Matt Cavendish-Regan
Tim Jarvis
Stuart White (peeled off part way to the cafe stop)
Nick Shenton and Alan Weaver (with us to the cafe, carried on home with no bread pudding!)

Phil, thanks for leading the B ride today, very enjoyable. You missed out us overtaking the 'Women on Wheels' groupetto, just before the cafe.
