Club runs - 29th October

A windy weekend meant less than ideal conditions for those brave enough to venture outside, so thanks to the 25 or so riders who were out on club runs this weekend. Thanks also to the leaders (Alan and Simon) who led amongst the leaf-strewn lanes to far off towns so magical, they are stuff of legend and romance.

...and hey, let's please remember the club run etiquette of not blasting away at the front without considering others...no one should be dropped on club runs! This may be fun for people at the front feeling strong, but others are seriously p****d off by this and tend to give club runs a miss...short fast sections are good, but either wait up at junctions or top of hills, or respect the leaders call or shouts of 'off the back' and slow down. Gentle rant over.

Better weather conditions are available of course, Barry Evans reported that no one turned up to his Brisbane Beacon club run, which meets every Sunday at 05:15 at the Three Koalas café...Flights are available at all good travel agents, Barry will be delighted to see you.

Autumn continues this coming weekend with club runs as follows:
A: Volunteer required
B: Blackminster (near Evesham) - Paul Johnson
C: Halfpenny Green - Pete Marshall/Si Turner

Apologies - I've overlooked a family event on 29th October and need to move my B run to 5th November - we will be going to Warwick town centre - (Wetherspoons is good for breakfast).

...so we're back to needing three leaders this weekend, folks. Weather looks pretty good, so why not sit down, type a jumble of letters, and use 'auto-lead' to arrange them for you and automatically post below with your name...yes, your name could be seen here!

I'll take the B run to The Potted Pantry, Blackminster http://www.thepottedpantry.co.uk/index.html about 66 miles bring a bike lock if you have one.As this is only a small cafe if we have a large group we will divert to Honeybourne.

No cross this weekend, if someone leads from Blackhorse to Belbroughton I'll lead a C magical mystery tour(the mystery is do I know where I'm going and the magic is the backroads of Kinver in Autumn). Probably have luncheon at Wolverhampton International Airport ( Halfpenny Green ) after visits to the homes of local Black Country celbs (Robert Plant and the bloke that started Poundland).
Can someone post here if they can do the first bit.
Approx route (follow at your own risk)

Hopefully Simon Turner is job sharing this C ride with me and will lead to Belbroughton or perhaps a little further where i will meet you.
Not a fast one, but will be just a tad hilly, taken at a gentlemen/ladies pace so no sillyness. Those of you who know the area will know what the roads round here can be like, potholes, mud and leaves so sensible tyres and wheels. No mudguards, go to the back.
