Club runs - 8th April

16 riders or so out on Easter Sunday, in the small window of decent weather this holiday. Strava suggests lots of riders out doing lots of different things, which is always good to see.

No plea this week, I even bore myself sometimes. I threw the biscuit away.

Anyway, we’re now promised a sustained period of double digit temperatures, which coincides nicely with one of the early season highlights, which is Paul’s Whichford run. Hope to see you out this weekend. This week’s rides are:

A: 100 in 7 to Whichford (08:00 for an 08:15 start) - Paul Johnson
B: Volunteer required
C: Evesham - Si Walker

Normal Thursday request...we have 20 or so regular C riders, can we have a volunteer to lead this week, please. There are likely to be new riders, so be good if we can a decent turnout, which is always higher when there is a pre-listed leader.

And as the A-ride is a long one starting at 08:15 this week, you are cordially invited to lead a shorter B ride...let’s try to get 3 leaders as the temperature start to reach double figures.

Thanks

I don’t want to be a moaner but I would like to join the A-ride however it’s been a while that my legs turn out for more than 100ish km. So, I plan to come with you Paul (and the rest of the peloton) if the weather is not that bad and in case I am running out of energy I can continue with my bell-powered garmin route.

I hope it’s ok!

Thanks Paul, a spaghetti carbo-load Saturday night and some heavy sleep I am sure will help.

See Sunday

The C ride will be to Evesham, 62 miles return from the BH, out via Droitwich return via the Lenches and Bradley Green. (If there is flooding at Fladbury, a detour will be required). Take a coat as it is forecast to rain. Cafe stop at Rafaels or Hampton Farm Cafe depending on numbers. I suggest taking an additional spare tube as there is a lot of grit on the roads (having experienced two flats in two rides).
The Garmin route is here.

Hi,
Do you run intro rides? I’m interested in joining a club. Used to be a commuter/regular Sunday rider/the odd sportive up until Sept last year. Moved to Birmingham and haven’t done much since then so don’t think I’m quite up for a C ride yet. Thanks Alison

The intro rides are the first Sunday of the month; unfortunately that's bad timing as the next one is on 6th May. You could perhaps come to a C run and peel off if it's too hard going; besides we go at the pace of the slowest rider so if anyone struggles they don't get left behind.

I have to be home by 12 latest so I intend to cut off at Elmbridge and return via St Kenelm's.

If anyone who wasn't intending to ride tomorrow but could be tempted out by a 30 mile non-stop then follow me at Elmbridge,

Thanks Simon for a great C ride :D
Was worried that having not ridden much due to rain, sleet and snow that I'd not make the distance. But enjoyed it and legs OK when got home, and 13.7mph average!

Thanks Paul for the enjoyable hard and consistent today’s ride.
You have smashed the front with an impressive hammer speed at least 88% of the ruote.
Really impressed!

See next

Thanks for that, it's good to get some feedback.
