Club runs - 22nd April

No club runs at the weekend, but lots of Beacon cyclists out in Saturday's sunshine and Sunday's gloom...Congratulations to John Hitchcock and all the marshals and helpers at the LMTT, another great event...chapeau to everyone who rides this most difficult event, but particularly to Simon Dighton for winning the V50, David McCann for the most improved against PB, but also Jess for finishing top 5, and Roger and Ben for very strong rides.

Other events were the Mad March Hare ride, a local sportive which had more than a dozen Beacon riders, enjoying the mist and breeze, and those on the April Tewkesbury Audax, and particularly for overcoming the ridiculous flooding on the final section...

Whatever you did, hopefully you had a great time.

It's a week of nice weather ahead of course, so why not come along to a club run this Sunday, and we should get leaders either in advance or on the day...hopefully the former of course.

This weeks rides will be:

A: Pershore with a man on a new bike, Neil Orchard
B: Volunteer required
C: Volunteer required

Any chance we could have some leaders coming forward this weekend? I'm monitoring who's registering the most on the message board so fully expect Bing [Bot] and Yahoo [Bot] to lead soon, but until I've worked on them, the club would appreciate some leaders...Get your bot down! (did you see what I did there...). We double club ride participation if we have named leaders, so why not play your part??

My bot is leading again the first time I'm available in mid May, but short rides are also encouraged.

Which café are you planning to use, Neil?

It was going to be coffee and more George as the owner said he'd open up for us a couple of weeks ago, turns out he's in Lanzarote now so it'll have to be coffee #1 or the pub opposite does breakfast.

Thanks. My plans are still developing, but I may drop by to say hello.

A well disciplined group of 7 enjoyed the spring sun (and wind) on the A run today, a smooth ride with no incidents apart from a tractor who's driver caught site of Andy Wrightsons ears in his rear view mirror and lost control momentarily through total amazement! <@>
A runners in alphabetical order were-
Neil Orchard
Ade Ravenscroft
Lee Spiers
Vincent Tennant
George Thorne
Dale Winton
Alan (cream horn) Weaver
Andy (shaggy) Wrightson
George Barker met us at the cafe
Great riding everyone , chapeau!

The only reason he saw my ears is because you had poked him in the back of your head with your nose first l
