Club runs - 22nd July

20 riders out on Sunday , evenly split over the three rides. Thanks to Paul, James and Neil for leading. Just one quick point, we seem to lack people willing to volunteer to lead C-rides at present. A few people have moved up to B-runs, but C-run remains our most popular ride...so be great if you do ride these, you volunteer to lead just once...we have 15-20 regular C-riders, so if most of you volunteer once, we'll be sorted for months to come! Please consider this, as having named leaders in advance doubles the attendance!

Not sure of the performance of the week, as strava and facebook was pretty quiet, so Adam Green's 370kms ride and Gemma Johnson (again!) get top billing...Good luck for the Transcontinental race to Adam and Stu, and Gemma once again lowered her 10mile PB, and won an open TT at the weekend. Did anyone ride the 50mile TT?

It's the Kidderminster Killer and Clee to Heaven Beacon audaxes this coming Saturday, organised by Philip Whiteman...these are excellent but tough rides, so attendance at club runs may be affected the day after....but club runs are still programmed, so if you're available, why not suggest a ride...build it and they will come.

This week's rides are:

A: Upton - Nick Shenton (meet at 08:00 for 08:15 start)
B: Crome Park - Phil Gameson
C: Blooms Garden Centre, Worcester - David Cole

Beacon audaxes on Saturday...gird your loins!

I am willing to lead a B run to Croome Park.
I will use the same route as Si Walker did a few months back:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/27333159

This is 62 miles and you won't get much flatter starting from the Black Horse.

The B Run to Croome Park was incident free.
Not only did I not lose anyone, I actually returned with one more person than at the start (Andy Terry joined us at Croome).
What I did manage to lose though was the list of names, so the following is missing four people (assuming that those below did actually ride):
Andy Wrightson
Simon Walker
Neil Evanson
Phil Gameson (Leader)
Dominic Walker
Andy Terry
Laura Derbyshire
Paul Derbyshire

Not included in this were some regular C riders that bravely made the jump to the B ride and who not only made it back in one piece but only dropped off the back briefly on the steeper climbs (of which there were not many). [We averaged 15.2mph.]
I hope we see you again on more B rides!

A warm Beacon welcome to Tom Jansons who joined us on his first Beacon Club Ride. We hope to see you back next week.

Tom Jansons has messaged me today asking if I know who borrowed his mini pump on this ride, has someone got it?
