CLUB RUNS - 18th Nov
Phil Richards has been sent as a convict to Perth. So in his absence I am posting the latest notice on club runs.
We had three volunteers leading rides to Wyre Forest, Alcester and Wootton Wawen this week. One matter that united all three rides was the significance of the date and time, the eleventh hour of the eleventh day, one hundred years on. So for a short period riders experienced a solemn period of quiet.
Two of rides went to places not quite intended. Remembrance Sunday meant that cafes were full in Alcester, so the B Run finally arrived at Earlswood suffering from cake starvation. Whilst, I led the A run down cul-de-sacs and through a secret short-cut in Stourport whilst falling off the bike in a rather comical fashion. Matt Hale won the popularity stakes with his ride to Wootton Wawen probably because he knew where he was going.
After a degree of arm twisting and heavy persuasion, Paul Johnson will be leading the next A run to Cobhouse Fisheries and not his intended destination of Croome Park but we are still short of leaders for the B and C runs. So yes, I am stuck on the same record as Phil Richards. We still need leaders for B & C rides. When Phil is released and returns from hard labour he will not be pleased to learn about any vacancies.
A Run: Paul Johnson - Clives of Cropthorne
B Run: James Tate - Wellesbourne
C Run: Matt Hale - Wolverley

I can lead a C ride to Wolverley (Old village stores). If anyone else wants to lead, happy to step aside.
Route as follows: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/27830103
28 miles to the stop, then a shorter return

Not quite the planned C ride as route didn't load onto my computer yesterday. Anyway, took the standard route out to Stourport and the rest was pretty much as planned.
Riders were:
Matt Hale
Toby Hale
Clare Fudge
Mark McConkey
Mark Gardner
Joanne congerton
Adrian low
Anne Hughes rode with us until Stourport
Great bacon sandwich at the stop (booked ahead today... may have had to wait otherwise, or sit outside)
