CLUB RUNS - 18th Nov
Posted: 12 Nov 2018 15:59
Phil Richards has been sent as a convict to Perth. So in his absence I am posting the latest notice on club runs.
We had three volunteers leading rides to Wyre Forest, Alcester and Wootton Wawen this week. One matter that united all three rides was the significance of the date and time, the eleventh hour of the eleventh day, one hundred years on. So for a short period riders experienced a solemn period of quiet.
Two of rides went to places not quite intended. Remembrance Sunday meant that cafes were full in Alcester, so the B Run finally arrived at Earlswood suffering from cake starvation. Whilst, I led the A run down cul-de-sacs and through a secret short-cut in Stourport whilst falling off the bike in a rather comical fashion. Matt Hale won the popularity stakes with his ride to Wootton Wawen probably because he knew where he was going.
After a degree of arm twisting and heavy persuasion, Paul Johnson will be leading the next A run to Cobhouse Fisheries and not his intended destination of Croome Park but we are still short of leaders for the B and C runs. So yes, I am stuck on the same record as Phil Richards. We still need leaders for B & C rides. When Phil is released and returns from hard labour he will not be pleased to learn about any vacancies.
A Run: Paul Johnson - Clives of Cropthorne
B Run: James Tate - Wellesbourne
C Run: Matt Hale - Wolverley
