A, B and C Club runs January, February and March 2019

Post by WorcsPhil » 12 Dec 2018 12:58

It's 2019...you've been given fourteen new bikes by Santa, you've lost weight over Christmas and your breakfast eggnogs have somehow given you unbelievable enthusiasm and mojo for cycling. So, slake that new energy by looking at this lonely, windswept thread and populate it with adventures so exciting, the Birmingham Mail will pick it up and run with it.

You know what to do, post below any weeks you can lead and suggested destinations, and you can suggest what you want. There is talk of a regular off-road club run, termed the G-Run for Gravel. Bikes seem to be moving in this direction, so why not move with it. Whatever you want to do is fine, suggest it...have confidence, other people will join you (probably)

If you are able to lead a club run or two, please post the date and café destination on this thread.

Note: This purpose of this topic is compile the schedule of club runs. Discussion about individual rides, including rider lists will be done in a separate thread - one for each Sunday, which I will post every preceding Monday.

Phil, I'll lead the Intro Ride on 3 March.

I'll also lead an ordinary run (probably a B run, probably in February), but I won't pick a date yet. I'll put my hand up maybe a week before, when the weather and the work situation aren't quite such a gamble.

My B run is likely to be 10 February, to Charlecote. I'll confirm once that date comes into view on the long-range forecast. (Having discovered in recent years that one doesn't necessarily get straight up again after hitting the deck, I have no intention of leading if it's liable to be slippery. Sorry.)

I'm looking to lead the first G run on Sunday 27th January.

Ideally an earlier start, say meet at 8.15am, leaving at 8.30am, I'll plan a coffee stop midway.
Cheers,

Stu

I won't be able to lead on the 10th March now as I'll be doing a 200km Audax instead.

I won't now be leading to Malvern on the 7th of April because this is the date of the Little mountain time trial and i presume there will be no club runs.

Sunday 24th March - 200km's Saracen's Number 2 - Permanent Audax 08:00 for 08:15 start from Black Horse.

An early 200k ride to cover off a missed audax during March so I am going to lead the "Saracen's Number 2" permanent audax route. Route will head out to BOURNVILLE then MORTON IN MARSH then TOWCESTER then WARWICK.
