Club Runs - 10th March

Post by WorcsPhil » 04 Mar 2019 13:21

Well, that was remarkable...28 riders out on club rides at the weekend with 24 of those out on a horrible Sunday morning of rain and wind. Thanks are due to Paul and George (where were John and Ringo?) for volunteering to lead in advance, and with 12 out on George's intro ride, I hope you haven't been put off by the weather. Great stuff.

So let's build on that as we stumble into March and ever-warming weather, please can we have a C-ride leader in advance this week as many on the intro ride will be looking to come along to that this week.

...and as I was in my nice warm car heading out for a pub lunch on Sunday, who should come riding by on his 90-mile round trip but George...after we both stopped and exchanged a few pleasantries, it began to rain so hard that rain was bouncing off the tarmac...I had to close my window to avoid getting wet...wasn't I good in doing that...George? What about him? He looked fine in my rear view mirror....he had a coat.

Anyway this week's ride will no doubt take shape as follows, and a good week for someone new to lead the A-ride as many regulars are off on a 200kms awayday audax in the peak district...

A: Cobhouse Fisheries - Paul Johnson
B: Volunteer required
C: Bewdley - Gary Macintosh
Women's ride on Saturday...08:30 at the Black Horse, led by Carolyn

Is ther any interest in a G run this weekend?
35-40 mile with or without cafe stop dependent on interest.
Cheers,

Stu

Several of the newcomers on last week's intro ride said that they would like to do a C run this weekend. I think it would be encouraging to them to see that there is definitely something going ahead.

I will take a slow C run to Bewdley riverside cafe or the railway cafe depending on numbers and how I feel.

Well, if we may get a sighting of the lesser spotted edney, I may have to bag a seat in the hide myself.
Hopefully no one will get blown into a ditch on the way.

G-Run was as expected, filthy, wet and windy. Good fun with some nice views.

In attendance were myself and James Tate.
