Club Runs - 21st July

Anyone for cricket? Wow, what a game to come home from a club run to, let's get a Beacon cricket game together, quick! Feel sorry for Djokovic playing possibly one of the greatest finals beating Federer but happening on a day of bigger news...same goes for Lewis Hamilton. A great Sunday of sport made only better by perfect cycling conditions out on the four club runs last weekend.

So, yes, four club runs, the Beacon bursts are proving very popular so be good to keep them going, especially with the Kidderminster Killer and Clee to Heaven Beacon audaxes this coming Saturday, Sunday lends itself to a Burst or two at different speeds.

Sorry to hear of some dissension on the B-ride this week, but it reiterates to listen to and act on calls from other riders, and yes, if there is a call of "single out" on dangerous busy rides, then let's please do so...the main call on the A-ride was to tone the language down please (you know the culprit! :D :) )

Anyway, let's be a well-organised set of riders on club runs, it makes it safer for all.

As I said, this coming Saturday is a day of big audax rides, so club riders may be a bit thin on the ground on Sunday, so if you're not riding, or fancy doubling up, why not come forward an volunteer to lead a shorter club run than normal this week...you know it makes sense. This week's rides are:

Beacon Burst at A-Run pace - Stuart White
A: Honeybourne - Paul Johnson
B: Volunteer required
C: Volunteer required

I'll lead the A run to Honeybourne/Blackminster about 70 miles if short of numbers happy to combine the A/B run.

Looks like I'm booked out for yet another Kidderminster Killer so I'll be out on Sunday.
Happy to lead a burst (if Jess isn't) as I need to be home pre noon.

If this was anyone else the I would say that they are mad but given your achievement last summer, taking a burst immediately after the KK will be easy.

Apologies, I feel I should clarify, I'm booked out with 'real life' duties on Saturday and will be missing another KK, please leave your thoughts and prayers with me at this difficult time.

Hi. I can’t lead a C coz my garmin isn’t reliable, but if anyone wants to lead a C, but is nervous, I’m offering to help.
Cheers
Hels

Fabulous morning for a delightful post-KK B/C leg stretcher to Yew Tree Farm via Great Alne and Aston Cantlow. Great working together by the team up the one hill (and few 'elevation corrections'). Cafe was packed with cyclists, which meant poor Dave had to rather scoff his scone (or is that scone?) before we set off again.

There has been some interest in a longer ride next Sunday, and if the weather is looking good I'm happy to take a 15mph group on 80ish flat miles to Beckford Silk Mill, then back via Broadway and Bidford, potentially with a second quick coffee stop on the return leg. Watch this space.

Simon White (Leading)
Geoff Mann
Andy Wrightson
Helen Jamieson
Finbar Costigan
Neil Evanston
Dave Little
Adrian McHugh
David Phelps
Huan Dong
Cédric Gioan
Wayne Gibbs

There's a C ride 100 planned for next Sunday, similar pace and route to last year. At 15 mph, yours can be the B ride.

Ah! Fantastic! Geoff mentioned there is normally a C-100 but thought it was later in the year. Will see how things pan out with weather, real life etc and confirm plans in a couple of days.
