Club Runs - 20th October
Another rainy Sunday, but as Neil Lynch pointed out... Only thing of note to report is the 8 Hopwood ladies merrily cycling away in the rain. An example to us all!...hhhmmm
Anyway, I have promises of a nicer weekend is on the way, so get your names down, we haven't had a full set of leaders this club run season yet, so this could be a good week to start.
A: Upton - Paul Johnson
B: Stratford direction - Simon White
C: Leader required using this route: Stourport - https://ridewithgps.com/routes/26772661

I'll lead the A run to Upton about 70 miles out via Tardebigge back via Droitwich weather looks cold but dry.

Re: Club Runs - 20th October
Edited with route - I'll take a B ride, published speeds, on an approximation of this 101km/63mi route:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31329831
Cafe will either be Charlecote at 48km/30mi or The Pantry in Stratford at 57km/35mi depending on numbers and preferences.
Depending on group/weather there are a couple of possible shortcuts to take up to 16km/10mi off.

Re: Club Runs - 20th October
Looks like the C run is using the Windlass Café on Sunday; is that correct?
Roger and I may join you at the caf, but I'm reluctant to volunteer to lead, because we're pretty slow, and a tandem's rhythm doesn't easily mesh with a group of solo riders.

Re: Club Runs - 20th October
Can we have a named C-ride leader, please - let's not leave it to Pete Norman every week. Let's try alternative approaches as I've read that different people react best to different approaches...
A: Angry - FFS, get your name down and lead.
B: Pleading - Once more unto the breach, I prostrate before you and beseech you to volunteer to lead a C-ride and help everyone enjoy the day.
C: Guilt: If no one volunteers, we'll simply pull all future C-rides.
D: Reward: The next person who volunteers to lead a C-ride will win a crème egg.
E: Deep: Volunteers find themselves having ethereal beauty and virtue, and usually had a better upbringing in a lovelier family, hence their marked sharing characteristics.
F: French: S'il vous plaît conduire la balade à vélo et aider les autres
G: With a joke: You can pay for your lunch with a donor card, it'll cost you an arm and a leg
Please choose the approach that appeals to you, ignore the others and pretend that I've written it just for you. I have.
Please get you name down to volunteer to lead, pleeeaaassseeeee

Thanks for the mention Phil, appreciated.
Unfortunately I am smitten with a heavy chesty cold and don't see any sign of a recovery to be able to ride tomorrow. I'm away next week but George has got that C-ride covered.

B Ride Tomorrow
I might be a few minutes late tomorrow as I am shepherding a cyclist from New Street to join us, but will definitely get there as soon as I can.

I'll be there for a C Ride, hope Pete gets better soon. Still to Stourport will improvise a route I can't get routes onto my Garmin - well I can get them on but then cant find them.

B Run ended as a lovely run to Charlecote and a slightly truncated route home. Shouts out to IronMargaret for demonstrating that endurance athletes may be steadier at the start, but they just keep on going; and Kamran for showing how getting a bit carried away at the start of a ride can cost you later.
