Club runs - 22nd December

Only 14 riders out on Sunday, but it was cold with a threat of ice and man and woman flu is rife at present....thanks to Paul/Simon for writing Homeward Bound, but no Sound of Silence where those two are involved.

Overdose on lemsip to get yourself ready for this Sunday. All rides are to rendezvous at the Swan in Chaddesley Corbett for the annual Christmas get-together of local cycling clubs.

Leaders wanted for the A, B and C rides to start whenever you want, but maybe sneak in a breakfast at Rowberry's In Chaddesley Corbett at 11:15 before mooching round to the pub at noon. Everybody welcome.. drive over, arrive by camel, willing aardvark or airship, but you're all welcome however you get there.

A: Chaddesley via Rowberrys - Phil Richards
B: Volunteer required
C: Chaddesley via Jinney Ring - Si Walker

Weather permitting, I will lead a C or C/B ride, stopping off at the Jinny Ring (~19 miles) for breakfast before proceeding to the Swan (~12 miles) for further hydration at a pace as appropriate to suit all. Set yourself to autopilot after the pub and the GPS will get you back to The Blackhorse.
The route will approximate to the following.

Your Christmas cracker joke is:
What do Reactor physicists have for Xmas lunch?
Ans: Fission Chips!

The Pre-Christmas gathering at the Swan in Chaddesley is certainly an event not to be missed!

Great venue, great atmosphere, cyclists from various local clubs, booze and grub available. Starts about noon.

Thanks to Si for volunteering to lead a B/C group -- hopefully the A ride will head that way too, as well as any independents.

I'll take a meandering A/B ride to Chaddesley using a route something like this...

https://ridewithgps.com/routes/31612901

As George says, try to make it along of you can, even if you just pop your face in, scoff a pork pie and immediately wend your way home.

Wear you Beacon kit, tinsel or your expensive Castelli/Rapha softshell...but be good to see you

My Christmas cracker joke is:
Disney merchandising is getting ridiculous..
I went in the supermarket today and they were selling FROZEN peas!

Hi George, probably about 11-11:15...enough time for a tomato-less bacon sandwich.

Finbar Costigan
Neil Evanson
Mathew Hale
Toby Hale
And McGrath
