Don't forget that, as of today, face masks are compulsory in shops, and my reading of the confusing guidelines is that a takeaway where you order indoors counts as a shop. Therefore, anyone going on a ride that might involve stopping at a corner shop or petrol station to buy a bottle of water or a piece of flapjack or whatever needs to be carrying something that can serve as a mask. If you're worried about the weight/bulk, I think that something like a Buff will probably do.
