RIDE FULL - Sunday 9th August - 100 miles in 8 hours

I am willing to lead a 100 miler in 8 hours, meet at 07:45 for leaving at 08:00. Speed overall will be about 14 mph when riding. The first stop will be Tewkesbury (The Hop Pole for cooked breakfast), then round Breedon Hill to Elmley Castle, pass around and through Evesham, 2nd stop at Harvington cafe then back via Bradley Green and Tardebigge, with a celebratory pint at at Barnt Green for those that wish. Don't forget your mask.
(if the weather looks awful then i may cancel as it no fun getting soaked on that distance)
Please ensure that you have a bike in good working order and carry spare tubes, I suggest 2 bottles and some spare food for top ups
If you have not done a 100 miles before this is a good opportunity, but consider if it is within your capability.

The route will be as follows:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33568103

Riders will be limited to 6 please, so put your name down if you are interested.

Riders so far are;

Si Walker
Simon Turner
George Barker - meet at Droitwich
Alan Weaver
Hus Hussey. (No Show)
Andy Terry

Just the 5 riders on this ride, we waited until 8;00 but a no show by Hus.

I'm interested, Si. However, I would probably meet you en route (e.g. Droitwich) and peel off on the way back (e.g. Radford), so do about 2/3 of the distance with you, if that's okay.

Could you put my name on your list for the 100 miles in 8 hours? Happy to be a reserve if anyone else with more cycling experience wants to try their luck instead? I am a new member and will be at the 10 mile TT this wednesday!

Si,

I will not be able to make it on Sunday. My bottom bracket needs to be fixed and I will not have my bike back in time.

Sorry to mess you about Si but I'm going to have to pull out of the ride.

My Mom and Dad's dog's kennels have had to cancel on them and at late notice can't get him in anywhere so I'm going to have to stay with him and leaving him throughout the day for that long may not be a clever idea. If it was a shorter ride It'd probably would of been ok.

Sorry again

Have a good ride everyone

Si, I'll meet you at the junction of Newland Road and Tagwell Road, just before your route passes under the M5. I guess you'll get there at about 09:05, so I'll aim for 09:00 to save you hanging about.
