'New Normal' club runs - Sunday 13th September

It's the Beacon Hill climb this Sunday, so although club runs will go ahead, it would be good if Beacon members either enter this one-off event or go along to support. The hill climb starts at 10am, so why not watch, cheer on the riders, then ride off on a coffee stop ride or Beacon Burst afterwards.

Thanks to Neil Orchard, Phil Elwell, Matt Hale, Si Walker and Lady Chatterley's lover (did you see George Barker's photo??) for leading at the weekend, an excellent set of rides, and perhaps the most well-turned out rider prize for 2020 has now found its winner.

There are has been some conflicting advice last week on group sizes for cycling. Cycling UK is now recommending a limit of 15, whereas British Cycling still has 6...we're watching the advice and for the moment we will stick at 6 as although group rides are potentially now 15, that number isn't recommended in cafes, where 6 is still the max under Govt rules when sitting outside, and theoretically 2 indoors...but if you have a Beacon Burst or any ride without a café stop, you won't be shouted at if more than six turn up. Confused?

Weather is still set fair so why not ride with your fellow Beacon riders. Don't forget it's only £15 to be a Beacon member, so sign yourself up if you haven't already done so.

are you sure about the time of the Hill Climb? Elsewhere it's being said it starts at 11 not 10?

It does indeed start at 11.
