Club runs for the weekend of 6th June

Post by WorcsPhil » 31 May 2021 09:48

What a great weekend that was!

Starting off with the NEC 10mile TT charity event for Cure Leukaemia on Friday night. As we move into June...this is the month that Ian Taylor will ride every stage of the Tour de France for this charity, one week before the Pro's, so thanks if you have already contributed to this fantastic charity and there is still time to do so if you haven't! Huge congratulations to all the Beacon riders, but special mention to Roger Cutler who was second fastest man on the night - he’s absolutely flying at the moment and racing these events at over 30mph average! Also kudos for Gemma Johnson and Claire Fudge who finished 3rd and 4th in the female TT.

At the other end of the distance scale, four guys rode from the Black Horse at 11pm Friday night to have breakfast in central London, a distance of around 210kms, and one of them John Williams promptly turned round and rode home... he’s fast becoming the hard man of the Beacon! Well done Nick Shenton for organising that adventure, club points all round!

With the successful Tuesday night rides in full swing, we are getting over 50 riders riding on club runs, which is great, and with a great week of weather ahead of us, we could break the Beacon club run record of 64, especially as we have the June Intro ride this Sunday.

So buff up your leather saddles, wet wipe your carbon shoes and get yourself on a ride this week, Tuesdays bash is going ahead, and hopefully a full set of club runs this coming weekend.

Normal rules, if you can lead, please post in a separate thread with details of your ride, and limit to 8 please for cafe stop rides or 12 otherwise...
