HUGHIE MAGUIRE ride 07 07 21

As part of #Beacon75 I would like to pay tribute to Beacon Legend HUGHIE MAGUIRE. Of a Wednesday he would to lead a great ride out to Wellesbourne Airfield caf. On Weds July 7th I will lead a ride on that route starting at Wickets Tower where Hughie lived (opposite the Cricket ground on Pershore Rd) 9:30. The ride will go past the Red Lion and head to Beckett's for 10:00. This was where the ride used to meet. Caf stop at the airport. Around 75m.

Like pretty well everyone who knew him, I was a great admirer of Hughie Maguire and welcome this initiative. However, getting out during the day on a Wednesday will be challenging for me. I've put the date on my calendar and will make a last-minute decision about whether to join you.

How time flies as it only feels like a few years ago that he died.

At the time I was in communication with The Herald about Hughie and they published an obituary. For anyone that did not know Hughie, they may be interested in reading the following article.
