I have the pleasure of leading the July intro ride. The June ride was really well received and as a result there has been plenty of interest in subsequent D and C rides.

Hopefully we'll get the same engagement levels for July!

As always, prospective members are most welcome, as are those returning to road cycling. If you're new to group rides, please have a read of the club run guidelines.

The meeting time will be 08:45 at the Black Horse, in Northfield.

We'll have a quick chat about the ride before setting off.

The destination will be the Boat Shack Cafe at Aztec Adventure in Upton Warren. It's a loop approximately 30miles/50km long, with about 1600ft of total elevation. We'll aim for 10-12mph average speed, or the pace of the slowest rider. We'll stick together as a group in any case. There are no huge climbs, but is steadily uphill on the way back.

Maximum of eight riders, we'll split into two groups at the cafe.

Rich Chaplin has kindly volunteered to assist on the day.

For any prospective members, I'll be taking phone numbers for track and trace purposes. This can either be done on the day, or through a direct message on the forum.

Dave, great that the ride is filling up and with Huan offering to support (he has plenty of club run experience) I'm happy to drop out and free up another place.

I'll keep checking in and if anything changes or if there is still a place on the day then I'll jump back on or join another ride.

Hi Ben, welcome! There's room for you to join us, look forward to meeting you. In terms of parking, I'd be wary of using the BH car park (I'm not sure of the restrictions, but I've heard a few bad stories with other Wetherspoons!). There's plenty of room to park on Great Stone Road, which leads up to the Black Horse.
Failing that, you're more than welcome to park outside my house (5 minute ride from the BH) until you've figured out somewhere better to park. Drop me a message if you want to do that and I'll pop over my address.

Just a quick note to say that the weather looks 'changeable' on Sunday morning, with light rain forecast. I completely understand if people aren't comfortable riding in poor conditions, so please let me know if this is the case. The ride will go ahead regardless for those that are still planning on coming.

Fitting fenders/mudguards is a very good idea, especially riding in a group. (But by no means compulsory, so please don't feel like you have to rush out and buy any).

I would however recommend bringing a waterproof jacket.

Thanks to all for a lovely ride, somehow managing to avoid the worst of the downpours! A bit grippy on the way back, but a really good average pace overall.
A quick note to say that Chris Yan will be leading a D ride next week, for anyone wanting similar distance and pace as today.

Thank you for today! Not quite sure how we avoided all the rain! Great to meet everyone and looking forward to joining some more rides in next few weeks and will be signing up to the club this week
