Club runs for the weekend of 4th July

Post by WorcsPhil » 28 Jun 2021 09:57

Hi all,

first of all, well done to all those who entered and raced at the Beacon Track Championships on Saturday at Halesowen. It was a good day out and those that raced all said it was great fun and something different...be great to get some of the regular B and C riders there next year for a taste of track action. Huge thanks again to Ade Ravenscroft for organising the whole event and for acting as MC on the day...Ade puts a great deal of effort into organising things for Beacon, not only this but all the academy events, the Grass Track championships as well as our inner-city Cyclo Cross event in late October...Ade, you're a superstar! Please give him your support by helping out where you can.

Excellent to see not one, not two but three century club rides on Sunday all on the same route...Thanks to Dave Cole, Si Walker and Andy Wrightson for leading these...and glad it stayed dry all day.

For those following Ian Taylor on the Tour 21, he's finished the first week and is on a rest day Monday...it's been tough with the 3 back-to-back mountain stages...great riding, Ian...it's been fun seeing your pain! :D

So this week coming, we have an Intro ride available to all, led By David Jones and with a coffee stop at Aztec adventures in Wychbold, this promises to be a nice ride. This weekend also sees the Beacon Grand Day Club run out to Weston-super-Mare...there are two rides heading out, a there-and-back in a day trip (372kms) and a 2-day trip, and details of both of these can be found in the separate threads... :)

So, if you're not riding on these wildly different options, why not suggest another club run this weekend...build it and they will come.

Tuesday evening rides this week continue, but attendance may be dragged down by England v Germany which kicks off at 5pm...COME ON ENGLAND! :x :x
