Well...where do we start this week after last's night whimpering performance from our beloved football team...best move on, I guess.

Three big areas of congratulations first. How about that Ian Taylor then? Our esteemed Beacon member, Ian rode the whole route of the Tour de France one week before the pro's and completed it successfully yesterday! If ever someone needs a rest, it's Ian, and look out for his bike when it probably appears on Ebay later this week :D . Great stuff, Ian, and particularly as the Cure Leukaemia team raised over £1m as they crossed the finish line yesterday...for those who have not yet sponsored this fab effort, here's the link.

Secondly, big shout out for Ade Ravenscroft for the Grass Track championships on Saturday. We had over 50 kids competing which is brilliant, so thanks again for Ade for organising and those of you who volunteered to help. We have chirped on before about how much Ade does for our club and the promotion of cycling for kids and juniors...it really is tremendous and he is a great asset to Beacon - please find the time to help out when you can as his events are becoming more and more popular.

Finally, the Beacon Road Bike 10mile TT was held on Sunday...congrats to Gemma Johnson for organising and again for those who helped out. It's the Janet Kelly Open TT this weekend, so look out for those results and super quick times.

So, we are now assured that we are in for days and days of hot sunshine, so why not get your club rides planned now...be good to get as many rides for his Sunday or Saturday as we can... you know what to do.
