A Group Ride: Sunday 18th July - British Camp
Well I suppose I ought to get off my backside and lead a club run.
Outside Cafe Destination: Sally's Place, British Camp
Grand Depart: 08:15 Start (an early start due to the hot weather forecast). Can pick up late comers on route but say where you intend to meet.
Water Stops: Evendine Spring, Dunley Garage and Drayton.
Free Ice Lolly: Drayton.
Route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36774720
Face masks required for any indoor visits.
So called 'Snot Rockets': Anybody caught producing these will be asked to leave and ride some horrible, for example, Warwickshire.
Generally speaking, there will be a lot of downhill sections.

So far Nick and I appear to be in for the "ups", and Andy and Amarjit for the "downs". James is hedging his bets

Re: A Group Ride: Sunday 18th July - British Camp
When somebody exclaimed, "HOT", I thought they were talking about me but apparently they were not. By 2pm, the Met Office were reporting an air temperature of 29C. The radiant heat from the tarmac and the intense sunshine must have made it even hotter. Road surfaces were starting to melt.
At Evendine Spring in the Malverns and at Droitwich Tesco Express, we crazy cyclists were pouring water over themselves and each other.
To avoid being fool hardy we diverted back via Crowle rather than attack the massive climbs to Clifton and the Abberley Hills. The speed on the return journey dropped considerably as the heat increased in intensity.
Amarjit who voluntarily dropped off at Chaddesley to resolve a tyre problem but he braved the conditions and caught up with the main group at British Camp. That is determination for you!
