Club runs for the weekend of 29th August

Post by WorcsPhil » 23 Aug 2021 10:47

Well, it's the Bank Holiday weekend coming up, and boy, do we have a treat in store. It's the first ever vintage club run on Bank Holiday Monday 30th August...running from Tardebigge to Churchfields in Salwarpe, this is the perfect opportunity to dig out your old bike, pump up the tyres, and ride. All are welcome, whether you have an old bike, recumbent, e-bike, even new bikes...there are no rules! It is a great excuse for a mass get together all in the safety of an outside setting. There is another thread outlining the details, so why not come along.

Thanks to the leaders this weekend, and for all those who turned up to ride a club run...Sunday proved a nice day to ride after Saturday's washout.

So enjoy the last week of August, get your heritage 75th anniversary jersey on and come along for Monday's jamboree.

Don't forget, club runs on Saturday and Sunday are also encouraged so why not lead one of them if you can't come out on Monday. Also, the Tuesday rides are likely to stop at the end of September, so get your name down for the last few weeks of these Summer bashes.

Finally, there are a couple of local sportives going on in two weeks that I know Beacon members are entered into...so they are both worth a shot across your bows. They both take place on Sunday 5th September, so in two weeks, and they would both love your participation. Firstly, there is the Peace and Hope Sportive starting in Hereford, where the longer route ascends Gospel Pass, so a cycling test as well as supporting a great cause. Entries here:

Secondly, the Mad Summer Hare is on the same weekend and starts/finishes in Tanworth in Arden. Details and entry is here:
