Lumpy B Ride Clee Hill - Sunday 29th August - 8.30am start - RIDE FULL
I am "training" for the upcoming Dragon Ride and need to do some serious hills this weekend. I am planning a longer trip out to Clee Hill to give the legs a test over some proper hill climbs (weather permitting). Route will be as follows:
https://ridewithgps.com/routes/37276241
76miles with 6000ft ascent
From the BH the route will go up to Romsley and down the St Kenelm's pass as a warm up. From there out to Wolverley - Bewdley and round the Wyre Forest stopping at the Larch Barn at 26miles. Suitably fortified, down to Cleobury Mortimer and the climb up Clee Hill- aiming to go all the way to the top near the radar dome to tick this off the greatest climb list. Second stop will be either on the return to Cleehill villlage or possibly Colliers Farm Shop near Clows Top. Return will be back through Stourport and a fairly normal route back to Brum. We may well add in a beer stop on the return to Birmingham for rehydration purposes.
Pace will be conservative - main aim is to get the climbing in the legs.
If you fancy joining us for a longer route with approx 6000ft of elevation change please add your name below.
1. Ewan Ross
2. Matt Hale
3. Toby Hale
4. Andy McGrath
5. Jon Sadler
6. Neil Orchard
7. Andy Wrightson
8. Harri Evans
9. Amarjit Sanghera
10. Mark Stammers
11. Nick Shenton

Morning
Sounds a great route!! - unfortunately I'm not around at the weekend. Phil mentioned on the 'weekly' news about the Hope and Peace Sportive on September 5th - it's very hilly - goes over Gospel Pass. I am riding the 70mile loop hopefully! Wondered if you had seen the info and if you would be interested adding it to your training schedule.

Thanks for the info. Stuart Jones mentioned this to me last night on the club run as well. Looks like a good route and I will probably join you on the 70 miler. Ewan

Hi Ewan,
Looking at the replies you've already had I think I've missed the boat but if anyone can't make it let me know as I'd 'love' to give this a go.

It will be interesting to see what they do with the Gospel Pass. It is closed due to a slip and in a very very poor condition. Take care.thomo20000 wrote: ↑25 Aug 2021 07:58Morning

Hi Ewan,
You can take me off the list for this one, as I’ve signed up for Phil G’s Sunday B run instead
All the best !
