Club runs for the weekend of 19th September

Gawd, that hill climb looks tough. Admittedly it is only 3-5mins of effort, but judging from the pain on the riders' faces as they got near the top, it takes some lining off your lungs. Well done to all the riders, with special mention to Si Woodward for riding it on a fixed gear more suited to a ride in the Netherlands, and to the new Beacon Hill climb champion, Ant Featherstone. More mentions to the fastest rider on the day, Cameron Biddle, who blasted up there in 2:52 at nearly 14mph average...that's daft. Finally, and as mentioned last week, in what has a been a horrible year for our time trials, the biggest mention is to Gemma Johnson, who has organised, publicised, ridden in and led a fantastic programme of events...Gemma , we salute you!

...and onto club runs...it was wonderful to see a healthy Intro ride on Sunday, thanks to George for leading and to Mariana and Matt for helping out on the ride. As for the A-run, we had a blast round to Broad Acres fisheries, and had some of the UoB cycling guys along, so wheee, it was fun blasting along at 35kph for much of the way...rivets.

Just two weeks of the club run season left, so why not surprise yourself and lead a ride in these last two weeks...you may have rode lots of club runs this year, so it's now your time to say..."you know what, I am gonna put myself forward this week, and give something back" :D ...you know it makes sense, Rodney.

Also, there is the normal Tuesday evening bash this week, and a regular D Wednesday ride is gaining traction so if you're free, why not go along...

See you next week.

Don't forget the floodlit training as well starting up Thursday on the oval track Birmingham Wheels Park Adderley Road South, Birmingham B8 1AD to complete your week!
Some things actually DO happen that are not on Strava
