Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 24th October

Weekly Update:

"It's the first day of autumn! A time of hot chocolatey mornings, and toasty marshmallow evenings, and, best of all, leaping into leaves!"

Yes, Winnie the Pooh is a wise old bear and far more poetic than Paddington and all the other over-rated bears... and it was the uncertainty of these Autumnal days that restricted club runs at the weekend. Thanks to Gemma Johnson for wisely leading a ride on Saturday and Andy Wrightson and Paul Balfe for leading rides after the rain on Sunday. If you managed to get out, well done.

Racing is restricted to 'cross at the moment of course and Helen Jamieson continues to fly the flag. It would be good for Beacon riders to get involved in racing as this has fallen away a little over the last couple of years, but we will have added momentum for 2022. Come and hear why that is by attending the 2021 Beacon AGM which takes place at the Hillscourt conference centre, Lickeys (where we've had the Christmas do for the last few years) on Thursday December 9th at 18:30 and via Zoom for those who prefer to dial in or can't make it in person. Come and hear what's been happening across our club and help us thrash out certain issues where we'd like member input for next year. More details will be sent to all members but keep the date free.

So what's happening this week...top of the bill remains Adrian's free evening training bashes at Birmingham Wheels at 18:30 on Thursdays...there's only a couple of these left but why not go along, it's FREE for Beacon members.

Other than that, there are the regular midweek rides on Wednesday (see message board for them) and the pacey Beacon Thursday bashes at 10am from Tardebigge...All are welcome....and hopefully a full set of club runs for this coming weekend. You can suggest Saturday, Sunday even Tuesday at 2am if you wish...we're big enough to get a following for whatever you suggest...so be a leader not a follower and get your name down to lead. :D

Have a good week.
