6th February Introductory Ride

Post by Mick Stanford » 23 Jan 2022 11:24

Take the jump and come along and join myself and Karl for an easygoing and chatty social ride out on the Beacon Introductory Ride on Sunday 6th February. Meeting at the The Black Horse pub car park, Northfield, B312QT at 09:00 for a 09:15 departure.
We will be riding out to Earlswood Craft Centre for coffee and cake or even a full breakfast if you so desire. The route is around 30 miles (49km) on minor roads as far as possible, over gently rolling terrain.

The pace will be of the slowest rider, which is usually between 10-13mph (13-21kph). You will be looked after throughout the ride. No one is dropped.
Route is https://ridewithgps.com/routes/33989815

If there is interest I will also deliver a session on **flat**s and changing, repairing an inner tube when we arrive back or on route. Yes, it happens to us all but is nothing to fear if you know how to deal with it. I will show you.

Go for it, post you name, message and join us for a great ride out and chat about joining the club or any questions you may have.

Please do read how the Introductory Rides work on our website: http://beaconrcc.org.uk/club-runs/ (and scroll down).

I am not a new member but I would like to join this ride as I am recovering from Covid and would like an easy ride. Although if there are no other takers and you would prefer to go on the C run, that's ok with me

I'd like to join this please Mick. I'm doing a long run on Saturday and won't manage a C run. Thanks

Hi Mick, I was going to go out on Louise's C ride but I now need to be back home earlier, is it OK if I jump on the intro with you?

Thanks

Sorry that I failed to pop by and say hello at the café as planned, Mick. I tried to get a message to you, but it didn't work out. Conditions looked pretty grim here at bedtime on Saturday, and I couldn't summon up much appetite for a three-hour trek home into a strong headwind and driving rain, knowing that I would still need to work when I got back. By the sound of things, everything went well. Many thanks for leading.
