Weekly Club Update and Club runs for the weekend of 20th February

WEEKLY UPDATE

As far as I could see there were only two Beacon members cycling outside on Sunday, Andy Wrightson who everyone knew would be daft enough to be out and Stuart Jones, who frankly we thought he knew better :D ...well done both. For the rest of us, we found solace in unblocking the drains, cutting our toenails and re-grouting the tiles in the downstairs toilet, or even Zwift! Don't you just love rainy Sundays :(

So let's just forget that and just (like all good sports coaches say) focus on the positives that we can take away from that performance... which is, there's always next Sunday!

So what else has been going on...it's less than two weeks till the Beacon Sunrise/Snowdrop Audax, and we have over 35 Beacon entrants, which is great to see...let's hope for a nice day and it will be great to see you...say hello to me at the start/finish.

Onto other things, we are pleased to see a number of new members signing up as a Beacon member, welcome all - but there are still 60 or so of last years' members that have yet to renew including some regular club runners, so don't make us hunt you down, get involved in a chase and corner you in a blocked alleyway... it's only £15 after all.

Our TT calendar will be posted either this week or next week, we're just finalising details with the CTT. Also this week or next will see Neil Orchard posting details of the summer kit order, so watch out for both of those. ..and finally, we always offer a racing bursary to any member under 23 who is getting into racing, so if that's you, get in touch with us, and we'll support you all the way.

So let's finish where we started, let's get back to club runs next weekend, don't forget, you can always a suggest a non-stop ride (Beacon Burst) if you're short of time and need to get home earlier. Get your rides down on the message board!

Phil
