C/C+ ride to the Cotswolds. 147km/91mi. Sunday 10th April
As per our initial plan let's keep cranking the distance up. Let's see when/if the frogs can start feeling the heat. Just about halfway now !
I propose another ride to the Cotswolds (but no Dovers hill this time, have no fear).
147 km / 91 mi https://ridewithgps.com/routes/36423211.
Likely speed 14 mph. As we start to reach longer distance, we might now start to focus on managing the energy over the whole ride (for those new to it) and not necessarily repeatedly riding at 15mph when it's advertised 14
Will have a short coffee break in Moreton in Marsh (not sure where, but with quite a few cafes there I am sure we'll get sorted. Best to bring a cafe lock if you can)
Meeting at the BH a bit before the dot for a 9:00 departure.
Cedric G.
Keith Adcock
Will Woodhouse
Michelle Thompson
Andy McGrath
Jon Sadler
Ewan Ross
Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbow. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender this makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.

Hi Ced
I can't do the full ride tomorrow so I'll peel off at Welford and use your return route. This is where the narrow route planning pays off!
See you tomorrow

I try to have narrow routes, like Tewksbury, Chipping Camden or Charlecote over the last few weeks. Not always possible, but glad this will prove useful to you tomorrow+AndyMcGrath wrote: ↑09 Apr 2022 16:56Hi Ced

Hi Cedric
Thanks for a very enjoyable ride - hope you got home OK and Jon caught up with you when you turned right on the roundabout.

Thanks for the ride today. I did 100 miles in the end, although had a nasty altercation with an impatient driver just past my house in Stirchley.
