C paced imperial century to Whichford. SATURDAY 16th. 8:30 am
As per our initial plan let's keep cranking the distance up and enter the hundred milers territory.
Due to Easter Sunday and family commitments for many that day, I'll run this ride on Saturday instead this week for a change.
This week would be another south easterly ride to Whichford (with the infamous Edge Hill thrown in there to indulge most participants appetite for self harm ).
162 km / 101 mi + 1450m / 4500ft elevation
Likely speed 13.5/14 mph. As we start to reach longer distance, we now start to focus on managing the energy over the whole ride.
If you're lucky enough to be super fit and fancy a faster ride, please create your own. There's a shortage a B rides, why not become tomorrow star?
Will have a short coffee break at about middle distance at the Straw kitchen in Whichford
Meeting at the BH for a 8:30 departure.
Cedric G.
Keith Adcock
Andy McGrath
Please note that due to medical reasons I use a handle-bar extender, a bit like TT-bars. I use this to relief the pain of NHS diagnosed trapped nerves in my wrists and elbow. I do NOT use these to ride like a TT racer, to draft behind others or similar performance seeking stunts.
Every bike ride, be it commute, ride alone or in group, entails its share of risks (bad road surface, motorised traffic, natural elements, our or other riders' mistakes or inattentions...). This is common knowledge and we all ride at our own risk. Nevertheless if my use of this extender this makes you feel uncomfortable, please do not join my rides.

Hi Will,
I am not sure whether it is a good idea.
This is a C ride.
Last week I had to ask several times to slow down on the way down and yet some arrived to Moreton ahead of the group.
And then on the way back the pace was again too fast for some (not just me).
I trust it would be better for all if you led your own B ride.
Re: C paced imperial century to Whichford. SATURDAY 16th. 8:30 am
I’m so sorry Ced, the pace was advertised as 14mph and I did 14.4 over the whole ride.
I’ll quite happily sit behind you tomorrow and go at whatever pace you decide.

Glad you enjoyed it Andy. Many thanks for helping at the front on the way back, much appreciated. Was a gorgeous day out indeed. Weather helped. Route was top (thanks whoever created it in the club database). Café lived up to its reputation. My most enjoyable ride so far this year.
