Rourkie's Cat & Fiddle

Post by laurence_cooley » 06 Oct 2013 18:19

Nick Shenton, Alistair Hey and I rode Rourkie's Cat & Fiddle today. It was a great day out on roads that I'd never ridden on before and with the sun shining overhead (a bit windy on the descents for my liking, but can't complain for October). I don't know what Alistair had for breakfast but he was flying up the climbs. It was also good to see Tony and Jane and Carl out on the road. I thought I heard someone say at the HQ that Sean Kelly had pulled out and we didn't see him, but here he is at the start, on a mountain bike for some reason.

It was a really good day out, helped by the weather!

It was a fabulous day, wonderful scenery and blue skies. Can confirm Sean Kelly was at the cafe, on the road and at the finish where he was to be found swigging tea (and eating chocolate concrete) with the rest of us.

Myself and Simon Turner are also having a crack this year, so if anyone fancies joining a "gentleman's pace " group you will be moiré than welcome to share the wind and hail that I always seem to attract on this road. :)
