The Rawlinson Bracket Sportive 23 Feb '14

Calling all Beacon members!

Get yourselves entered for the Rawlinson Bracket Sportive to be held on 23 February 2014. It's a (hilly) route around the villages near Gaydon, Warwickshire of either 50 miles for the 'Top Bracket' or 29 miles for the 'Bottom Bracket'.

This is the third year the sportive has been organised.

Please help support this local event - after all, it's for a great cause. The ride was set up in memory of a friend of a friend who loved his cycling, who sadly passed away in his sleep aged 30.

More information can be found at http://www.the-rawlinson-bracket.co.uk/

You can enter here at: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/event ... 2015#entry

It's £19.50 (+ admin fee) for the Top Bracket, or £13.50 (+ admin fee) for the Bottom Bracket.

There's a new HQ this year at Moreton Morrell college due to roadworks in Gaydon for the JLR motorway junction.

As the Snowdrop et al are full/almost full, hopefully there'll be more Beacon interest this year.

I hear from Rawlinson Bracket HQ that none of you has signed up yet!!!!

Please give it a look at least - I know the Snowdrop is the day before, but it's for a great cause and a fun ride. All you mountain goats will be in your element!

Probably the reason nobody from the Beacon has entered.

Well now that the Snowdrop and Sunrise Express are full, I hope those of you that missed out will sign up to do this event instead!

Not quite correct as Beacon members are still able to enter.

Special arrangements are in place for members to still enter despite the entry system being closed down. If any would like to participate in this prestigious Beacon winter event then please send me a PM for instructions or e-mail beaconaudax@gmail.co.uk . Furthermore, volunteers are needed to support this event, primarily as controllers or marshals. Catering support is not required.

Just got back from the Rawlinson Bracket.

Horrendous headwind most of the way round!

Saw a couple of Beacon tops from afar so thanks for turning out.
