Castleton Classic Audax: 11th May

Post by Philip Whiteman » 15 Apr 2014 19:34

There has been some talk on club runs about a Beacon posse entering the Castleton Classic, a 200km audax starting from Shenstone, heading off to Castleton in Derbyshire. I rode this event two years ago, a. The route is pleasant with a hilly middle half and flat final quarter. Good cake opportunities at two of the three controls.

For local authority spotters, there are plenty of councils to tick on your list:

Staffordshire County
East Staffordshire District
Staffordshire Moorlands District
Derbyshire County
North East Derbyshire District
South Derbyshire District
Derbyshire National Park Authority

I'll get my tablets.

Oh yes, I remember it well from two years ago!!! Lashed it down with rain, snow, hail, gale force winds and finally a day of Matt Regans jokes, I'm still having nightmares.
