Santini Cotswold Spring Classic

Myself and a friend did this sportive last sunday. It's based in Cirencester, and seems to be sponsored/run by Performance cycles in Poulton, so not a rip-off sportive by any means. Over 650 riders, most of whom did the easier 100kms route, but the 160kms is a very interesting course. Starts off quite tough as it floats down and up around Stroud, but there is then a 40kms ultra-fast section next to the Cotswold Water Park, before undulating again until the 160kms route cuts off back into the hills. The last 40kms is very tough with slow descents down small, steep lanes and ultra-steep ascents around Painswick, Slad (Knapp Lane is a 25% shock) and Stroud. All in all, a good sportive, with good foodstops, free pasta and easter egg at the end in a area of the country that I've rarely cycled.

Not aware of any other Beacon jerseys on show!

This generally clashes with the Falling Leaves from Winchcombe that day.
