Tramping the Two Loops - Audax (Review)

Post by caashford » 06 Aug 2018 16:01

"Tramping the Two Loop" (200km) Audax organised by Evesham & District Wheelers.

Based at Honeybourne village hall (just down from All Things Wild) this was a great route, out to Barnt Green then back to Honeybourne, then out to Banbury and back. HQ was easily identifiable by large flags flying on the way in - so no chances of missing those.
The Banbury Loop was certainly undulating, taking in Dovers Hill, plus a couple of other Cotswold Climbs on the way over, but actually quite a flat return. The Barnt Green Loop was a slow rise to Barnt Green via Ullenhall climbs and Tanworth, then back through our usual club runs via Bidford.

£7.00 got teas / coffees / toast and bananas at the start, and sandwiches / cakes and more teas / coffee / squash at the finish. The catering team were a bit overwhelmed by numbers wanting food and hydration, but did their best, just needed to cater for the mass influx.

The day also hots the "Barnt Green Bash" 100k and "Honeybourne Loop" 50k for those after a shorter ride.

Definitely recommended, appreciating that we ride many of these routes anyway, but good to support a local club. Lets see what other Evesham Wheelers rides are coming soon and support where we can.
