New 150km Audax Route - What should we call it?
WHAT'S IN NAME?
The proposal for a new Beacon Audax route next year has created some lively discussion on the Beacon Audax Facebook Group.
Run on the same day as the legendary Kidderminster Killer and From Clee to Heaven events, I am proposing a new 150km audax with 3 Altitude Award Points.
The question is, what name should the event be given? Please post your suggestions and this will be put to the vote on the Beacon Audax Facebook Group. I have already mooted From Clee to Heaven (Beastly version); Mini-Kidderminster Killer or just Clee Killer.
The winner will receive a free entry should it get the green light.

My worry with these would be that there's scope for confusion between the new route and the existing ones. I don't really have a suggestion, but I'd go for something more distinct.Philip Whiteman wrote: ↑10 Jul 2019 13:26I have already mooted From Clee to Heaven (Beastly version); Mini-Kidderminster Killer or just Clee Killer.

Good point. I had been mulling The Kidderminster Killer Minor, Medium and Major but that too would lead to confusion
'Inclines and Radar Summits' is a possibility

I like Pete's suggestion and so do my legs - as a warning

If you do use it give my free entry to worthy nutter. I've ridden up Abdon Burf and have no intention of ever doing it that way again

Pete was the clear winner in the Poll conducted on the Beacon Audax Facebook Group.
So The Beacon Burns it is, giving this and From Clee to Heaven a clear A E Housman flavour.
Pete, clearly you're not compelled to take up the free offer of entering The Beacon Burns but consider it transferable to From Clee to Heaven next year or this October's South Salopian.
