Anyone thinking of entering this next year? Its going to be a big one, and the potential for lots of Beacon riders to enter:
https://londonedinburghlondon.com/
8th - 13th August 2021

Entries open on 7 January 2021 The entry fee for 2021 will be £350 and includes:
  • hot meals (including vegetarian and vegan options always) at every control
    hot and cold soft drinks
    showers and towels
dormitory beds at most controls (and earplugs!)
    two bag drops
    mechanical support at controls
finishers’ medal for everyone who makes it back to London
validation of your ride with Les Randonneurs Mondiaux and Audax UK
Just putting the post up to see whether Beacon is going to have the biggest representation there!

I volunteered in 2017 which means I get a guaranteed entry for 2021.
I'm still undecided whether to enter in 2021 or volunteer.
If I can complete Mille Pennines I'll probably enter LEL

I have not made my mind up yet but I may go and support one of the Scottish controls.

There is not a single part of me that doesn't want to do this. I'll be there.

I'll be there as well, and luckily qualify due to my long-standing audax membership...be great if we have a huge Beacon contingent for the UK's most prestigious audax...after our own of course :D

Actually, getting in won't be so easy...to qualify, these are the requirements:

•London Edinburgh London 2017 and Windsor Chester Windsor 2019 volunteers
•Audax UK or Audax Ireland members who were members on 12 September 2018, and remain members on 1 January 2021.
•Anyone who has completed an event validated by Les Randonneurs Mondiaux in each of the calendar years 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 (four events in total).
•Anyone who brings a spouse or immediate family relative (parent, child, sibling) to volunteer, both at London and another control, for at least three full days

That last one is disappointing, as we have a couple of riders who want to ride but don't meet any of these qualifying requirements, and a couple of people who may volunteer...be good if we can match these people up to get the potential riders riding, but the requirements above suggest it has to be a close family member, hhhmmmm, maybe we could swing that Andy Wrightson and Philip Whiteman are, in fact, brothers! <@>

Anyone got a DNA testing kit?

I am not sure that Danial would be fooled by that one.

Of course the qualification above is for a guaranteed place. People without any of the above "Qualifying requirements" will still be able to enter into the ballot for a place.

There's no need for a DNA testing kit for Andy W and Phil W - They can enter using Phil's qualification and ride together on a tandem. I'll ask Roger, I'm sure he'd be happy to lend his to them for a good cause. :D
