I read elsewhere that they are continuing. However, when a rider turned up at the traditional start point no one was to be found. It is fairly inevitable that the rides will tail off or cease.

Don't forget about our Sunday club runs.

I was out on the south run last Saturday-healthy numbers out. Same route and format with everyone ending up at the cafe. It'll carry on in one guise or another for sure.

Thanks,I usually do the North ride when im free, will go and have a look in a week or so.
I dont do club runs as I dont like to be out all day which is why I like the BCC rides.Ive never been one for cafe stops and find it really difficult to get going again after a stop .

These are going strong and are likely to continue to do so. Feeling is that the preferred meeting point would now be back at Alistairs old shop (Bristol St).
This will happen in the next few weeks. Tim Ashton is dealing with this and will notify me and all riders present today when this will start. I will post it on here.

You might just want to check the date of that last post before you turn up.

Thanks Alan but aparently they are still happening there are recent posts on the Birmingham City Rides Facebook page and spoke to someone today who did it last week Christmas eve and he said there was enough there for a north and south ride.

Will let you know, if I'm up in time for it!

Yep they are still happening, I really enjoyed it and was v pleased to stay with front group back to Cotteridge where I bailed out. Above is a link to my Garmin ride data (not sure if link will work). There were about 13 on the fast south ride and 5 went on the steadier north ride. So considering New Years Eve and terrible wet weather a good turn out. The ride time suites me perfectly due to family commitments. I cant do any of the beacon club rides at the moment, even the burst starts about 2 hours too late for me!

Any one else in a similar situation who would like to do a 7am-9am Sunday training ride starting in Cotteridge from spring onwards let me know.

I will try and do this ride twice a month from now on.

Hi Tim,

I'm in Cotteridge and also usually need to work things around the family. If I can't make the club run an early start is often my only option.

Let me know if you're ever heading out early.

I usually do the North ride for the same reason, fitting in around other commitments,so would be up for an early ride on Sundays .

Hi Tim
I would be interested in an early Sunday ride. Family and work commitments prevent me attending club runs. I am in Kings Norton, so this would be ideal.

Great.

The next few weeks are pretty busy for me so won't really know til the Friday what I can do. But a 30ish mile loop say leaving somewhere like front of co-op in cotteridge at 7am would work well for me.

For most of the ride the only thing I thought I needed was to be sectioned.
The snow was settling on my face!

I did a couple of hours along the canal at 7am, quite simply the worst ride I've ever completed, still feeling cold.

You'll be fine, Barry, although I suggest quickly familiarising yourself with the route just in case you get split off the back by traffic or something. It gets back to town around 9.00. I'll add you to the Facebook group. I might be out tomorrow morning but it'll likely be for the north ride as it's Newport in the evening and last time I tried to do the south ride and a track session in the same day, it wasn't pretty.

Thx Phil, but I have to keep it short and sharp.
OK Laurence, see you tomorrow morning. Does it really start at 0712? Where from these days? Where the old shop used to be on Bristol Rd?

Was a fast one this morning with average speed topping 20mph. I can confirm that Barry was still with the front group on the return into town. I can also confirm that at no point during the ride did we hold hands

It was good to see Dave Hughes making his BCC ride debut this morning; you picked a fast week, Dave.
