The Birmingham-Bangor Duathlon

Post by Tim » 10 Jun 2013 13:30

At the end of October I am going to be joined by my brother in law for three days of cycling and running.

The plan is to cycle from Birmingham to Bangor on Friday 25th October, run The Snowdonia Marathon on Saturday 26th then cycle back on Sunday 27th.

Haven't planned the route properly yet but it will be roughly 150miles each way probably going through/near to: Shrewsbury/Bala/Beddgelert/Llanberris
which will provide a nice c10000feet of climbing (each way!).

Did the marathon last year and loved it, although it was dry. It's a touch undulating too: http://www.snowdoniamarathon.co.uk/courseprofile.pdf

Has anyone ridden this sort of route, got any cafe stop recommendations or any other tips etc.?
Is bike hike the best site to plan routes on?

Cheers

Tim
