I think the roads go round Bredon Hill rather than over it so not very steep, 5% I'd have thought

It's 8.4% ave and 14.9% max, over 1.3 miles, at least that's what the Strava segment I did 5 months ago says. The road up there is a dead end, so you climb it, then turn around and descend. The worst bit is watching out for the sheep, walkers and the pesky cattle grids! :D

I assumed Carl was thinking of going somewhere, other than half way up Bredon Hill, and was concerned about it being on his route.

Ah. Well. You never know, he could have been wanting to do hill reps!

But yeah, it's actually quite nice and flat around there (if you don't detour up the hill!). My first proper ride on the road bike was around (and up) Bredon Hill this March.
