Cats at TT wednesday 27th April?

Post by stuart jones » 25 Apr 2022 12:11

Novice to TT, are there different cats on the night, or are these different cats mainly reserved for 'road bike only' and the 'handicap' TT evenings. Thinking about running a road bike one TT evening?

Hi Stu, there's no 'cats' in TT'ing...you're just competing against the clock and yourself on a TT after all ( )... but you're right the only distinction made is between road bikes and TT bikes.

I've only ever done a TT using a road bike and most of the 2-uppers I suspect will be on road bikes... best thing is just to have a go (either solo or with someone else on a 2-up), then have another go to see if you can beat your time the first time... and repeat

Yep, there are some prize categories in open events (vets, etc.) but the smaller numbers don't really make that viable for regular club events. The season-long handicap competition gives everyone an equal chance at a trophy though!
