Provisional results from the Midland Championships. I wasn't able to go, but it must have been something to see international cyclists racing!

Dissapointing day for Gareth and myself. I suffered a rear brake knocked (by another rider) down into the wheel at the start causing me to have to stop straight away and fix. Then to cap that off they had taped off the route the rest had taken as the 1st lap was different to the rest. Put me about a minute down on the field and killed any chance of a top three finish.

Gareth had to pull out on lap 2 with a hamstring injury.

Conditions had deteriorated quite badly for the seniors and womens race with rain slicking up the course. As it wasn`t forecast no one was really prepared and there were some frantic bike changes and calls for mud tyres after just one lap. Ruth did well to come in the top ten.

Well done to the Dighton trio!

A huge entry and a great course though, used again in January for a National Trophy round.
