Result SSSCCRL round 9 21/6/12

Post by gmac » 23 Jun 2012 12:08

A very cold and wet night in Admaston Shropshire saw three Beacon riders start round 9 of the SSSCCRL.
Myself, Gareth Scott and Jon Rice were all wearing winter gear and wishing we had more of it to put on.
I started in group two, Jon in goup three and Gareth was in group four.
All the groups quickly came together except for the scratch group which never caught.
The race ended in a bunch sprint with all three Beacon riders finishing in the top ten.
3rd Gareth Scott
6th Jon Rice
8th Gary Mac

I love the rain.

Gary

Yep good to have a beacon trio in the top ten. Incidentally there was no group 3 on thursday due to the conditions and the race was shortened by a lap.

They are a handicap race so accomodate all catagory levels from 4th to elite including pro riders occasionally. Usually 5 groups with 4th cats starting in the first two groups as a rule. Road races of 4-5 laps duration 30/35 miles total. If anyone fancys riding these it is very much appreciated (and expected) by the organisers if they marshal one event. There is an opportunity next week where beacon are co running the enville race. Come along if you can and you`ll know what to expect. Full details on the SSSCCRRL website.

Sorry scratch that the above race is on the 19th July . I have a commitment from three marshals only for this event could do with same again if anyone can do pls.

Carl, do come along and race tho but pls be aware that many riders pre enter the series and take priority. That said you will very likely get a ride.
