RESULT: Cyclo X West Midlands Round 6 - Misterton Hall
I reckon this course is my favourite ride so far this season and given the large turnout, others must think the same. Fast and varied, with quite a bit of tarmac and well surfaced tracks. Big change from last week's mud-fest, which I was pleased to have watched instead of ridden!
A great 2nd place for Greg Dighton. Shame that Gary didn't finish: what happened?

I was going really well until then.
I got back on the bike after bending the rear brakes back straight and started to make some ground up in the race.
Until the crank arm came off.
Not a great weekend for me racing wise two races two crashes.
Now I need lots new skin and several new parts for the bike.

Ouch! Shame that the Solihull rider was so cross about you taking him out that he felt it necessary to jump on your bike.gmac wrote:This

But what were you doing, Gary? Chatting to 148? (Who is that btw?) Waving to the camera? It's one thing coming off in the Three Peaks (an event that I and many others would never be man enough to even start), but your crash site looks like the sort of place where I once would have taken my children to learn to ride.

Of course Gary saw sense and entered the Sunrise and Snowdrop Express so that he could recover from such a crash. He realised that this popular event organised by the Beacon would be sold out well in advance of 16th February and that entering too late would hinder any recovery or sense of life worth living.
In fact it was a deliberate crash in order that he would feel compelled to race on that day.

I've raced behind that arse often enough to be sure that 148 is Doug.[/quote]But what were you doing, Gary? Chatting to 148? (Who is that btw?)
Yes, thanks Mike, that blocker of sunlight is my arse!
In fairness to Gaz, where he crashed was on a corner (you don't see that in the picture) and there were patches of mud everywhere which made it more hazzardous.
Greg is flying at moment and will be dangerous in a couple of years if he keeps it up.
I had a stinker of a start-couldn't get clipped and then crashed into someone half way round. Then the bloke in front of me snapped his chain on an up hill section so I had to run the bike. This might not sound too bad but on the first lap everyone floods past you. I then spent the rest of the race clawing back the places.
I'm happy with the result-I've had a 13, 14, 16 (the 22nd I'll ignore) so I'm consistant but need to push it alot more to break into the top 10.
