RESULT: first race for beacon
I represented the club on thursday at the Mallory Park circuit race. There was a good turn out of about 70 riders. 29 miles on an, at times, blustery course. Needless to say there were very few break aways and there was the inevitable pile up on the last bend. Thankfully i managed to avoid the funky end of the action, leading out into the last 150m but about a dozen guys rolled past me in the final 80m and i had nothing left at that point. A thoroughly enjoyable evening's racing and we even missed the rain!

Thanks for the encouragement folks.... On the subject of the course and its perils.... Have a go at it! It's a good fast course... One tight chicane bend which can get hairy due to bottlenecking but it appears the sprint pile up was caused by reckless manoeuvring on the part of one chap. I'll certainly be there again next week!

Well done!
70 Riders!! Christ that's some turn out for a Thursday night. No wonder there was a pile up.
Me and Lee Marrow raced Mallory all season last year the most we had was 25-30. Talk about the Wiggo effect.
It's a great circuit and should be safer than it is. Tuesday nights are 2nd and 3rd cats and Thursdays are 4th cat only. I'd definitely recommend it for a first race but if 70 turned up I'd think twice.
