Four of us rode this tonight. Special well done to Lee who I think placed top ten. My first road race and I loved it. 52 starters, a real experience going round lanes averaging 25-26mph for an hour. Either road races are better than circuits or I just enjoyed it more because Im getting up to speed.

Top 25maybe, had a moment of madness where I tried to follow someones wheel who attacked off front with a lap to go, we got caught by the group pretty sharpish and I was then spent on last lap/sprint.

Well done everyone. Nice to know Concorde are still promoting. I won the 42mile Concorde 2nd cat race in 1958, finishing at Dodderhill Common, near Hanbury. The main event, a real 'showcase' with many of the country's top riders participating, was won by Dave Bedwell, past winner of the 'Daily Express T-O-B. Dave was a tiny rider, but possessed one of the most amazing road sprints imaginable. I think he passed away a few years back, heart attack whilst cycling, I think.
It is better to be interesting rather than exact

Have checked with organiser and he says although the next two Concorde RR are sold out entries on the line have always got a place so I am going to try and get there 6.30ish on Weds.

Andrew I would say its a good circuit, fairly flat overall with two tightish bends but they can be taken fairly fast and if you just want the experience you can stay near the back of the group

Race 2 tonight. Four of us rode again.

Lee was 7th last week, 3rd tonight!

I was well placed in last lap but could only finish 16th or so.

Who's going to join us next week?
You are almost guarenteed an entry on the line, tonight due to mixed weather there was only 28riders for 50spaces. Nic? Mat? Lawrence? You could all def hack the pace. I've one space in my car if any of you want it. Leaving Bournville at 6pm.

Another good race, fastest of the three for sure right from the off.

Good turn out with six of us there, great ride on RR debut by Andrew Clayton finishing close to top 10 and best placed Beacon rider.

Im getting better at finish but it seems the rest of field is too!

Well done guys, it was great to see so many Beacon jerseys flying past. I packed after three laps not feeling good. Doug was going nicely and right up there toward the front of the bunch for a good portion of the race and Andrew was looking very strong.

A nice course and great conditions.

Gutted not to have finished, too many long rides and not enough fast stuff lately was a shock to the system....

Many thanks to Tim for the lift mate, great riding !
