Post by Simon Dighton » 09 Jun 2013 16:28

The club champs were run at the Shirley Open 50 event and congrats to Chris Hudson in just pipping Gary Macintosh for the title.

Results

Chris Hudson 2- 06-41
Gary Macintosh 2-07-14
Simon Dighton 2-07-55
Steve Morton Not sure of time - Steve please let me know so I can complete handicap scores.

Contributions may be needed for a new trophy cabinet for Chris folowing his 10 win and pole position for the best all rounder competition.

Thanks guys. It was really quite close. The 100 will be fascinating. Hard head wind for lots of the course today particularly the last leg made it pretty tricky.

Congratulations, Chris. That's not a very fast course and it was a breezy day, so I think all those times are very creditable.

Well done guys

I decided to travel via redditch for this event - and got caught in an horrendous queue for the Studley Car Boot Sale. Consequently I was late and didn't start in my original slot. I went off at number 36. Unfortunately I didn't pick my time up at the end (I do know it was slow though!). The course is excellent but would have liked it a little less windy :).

Well done Chris & all other competitors. Breezy out there this weekend so don't be mislead by the times. What's with this hundred though?

Handicap points

Post by Simon Dighton » 10 Jun 2013 18:00

At the moment I have assumed a time after handicapping for Steve M of 2 hours for calculating the points as it may be some time before results are published. Apologies to Steve if this is unfair but will correct once we know. On this basis the points are;

Gary Mackintosh 02:07:14 00:18:45 01:48:29 40
Chris Hudson 02:06:41 00:15:20 01:51:21 39
Simon Dighton 02:07:55 00:15:38 01:52:17 38
Steve Morton 02:40:00 00:40:00 02:00:00 37

Steve's best point score for this race could be 39 as a handicap time on a new course cannot be better than the base time for that course. Moving to 39 points would have the effect of Chris and I both losing one point.

Hi Simon, my official time is 02:49:37 which I don't think will affect the handicap scores... thanks, Steve
